The New Centerpiece
The island became our first focus. Although useful, it felt undersized and lacked the kind of
presence a central island should bring to a kitchen. By introducing a butcher block top, we
added both practicality and personality. The warm wood contrasted the cooler tones of the
quartzite, softening the overall palette and introducing a natural rhythm to the space. It also
expanded the functionality, making the island a true multi-purpose hub for cooking, serving, and
gathering
